“Activation” is the process by which each Spot receives the WiFi configuration for the venue and is connected to the Chargifi platform. Activation makes use of a photo sensor within the communication module or the transmitter, and the installer’s mobile device screen. By holding the device screen up to the photo sensor on the communication module or transmitter, the app “blinks” the WiFi credentials across.
To activate a Spot, plug in the communication module or transmitter, tap “Activate” and immediately place the device’s screen flush with the centre hole on the communication module case or the transmitter’s photo sensor.
Your device will count down 3-2-1 on the screen, then begin blinking rapidly. The transmission process takes approximately 10 seconds, and will conclude with an audible chime and vibration from the installer’s mobile device. At this point, the installer's device may be removed.
A progress indicator will appear until the communication module or transmitter is fully configured. Upon successful completion of the activation process, the app will advance to the Beacon Configuration screen.
