Overview
To remotely manage Chargifi Spots, troubleshoot, monitor, and obtain insights into wireless charging sessions, you need to connect the Chargifi Cloud Gateway to a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz with 20 MHz channels Wi-Fi band, or to the Ethernet.
Gateways can connect to the following Wi-Fi networks:
Our Gateways do not support enterprise Wi-Fi authentication such as WPA-802.1x mode. WPA/2-Enterprise mode is not suitable for headless IoT devices such as Chargifi Neutrons or Gateways. The Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) types and the range of different RADIUS servers on the market vary widely.
Captive portals were designed for humans, not IoT devices, so we are unable to connect to networks with sign-in pages such as captive portals (ICMP or DNS) or HTTP authorization (e.g. terms of service pages).
Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses
Each Gateway requires its own IP address.
Each Spot maintains its own connection with the wireless network.
Ensure your network has enough capacity for the number of Gateways you are planning to install.
There are three regional models: US, EU, and Asia.

Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Ports
The Gateways connect through certain TCP ports for bidirectional device-server communication, firmware upgrades, and fallback ports for communication.
Ensure your firewall allows outbound traffic on TCP ports 443 and 80.
The Chargifi Cloud infrastructure does not have a restricted IP range that can be used in firewall rules.
Transport Layer Security (TLS) Tunnels
Once activated, Gateways build a TLS tunnel to Chargifi Cloud, then keep a two-way communication channel open.
There is no need for the network administrator to open any inbound firewall ports.
Wi-Fi Credentials
If your Wi-Fi network credentials (SSID and/or password) change, Gateways that have been installed and activated will lose their connection to Chargifi Cloud. To reconnect, configure each Gateway again with the updated network details.
Network credentials can only be updated using the Installer app, not remotely in Chargifi Cloud.

Daily Bandwidth
Example:
A Spot is kept online 24 hours a day and the Spot is used for 20 charging sessions a day, on average.

Communication
Gateways send telemetry data to the Chargifi Cloud so that you can manage and troubleshoot Spots remotely, and obtain insights into Chargifi wireless charging sessions.
Security
Personal Data
It is not possible to collect any personal data from users who are wirelessly charging their devices.
